Framed example of John Ficklen's limited edition print "NORTH AMERICAN B25 B". The print depicts the B-25 Mitchell medium bomber which was flown by then Lt. Col. James H. Doolittle during the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo as a response to the Pearl Harbor Attack. The raid, which took place on April 18, 1942, resulted in little material damage, but American morale, still staggering from the December 7th attack and Japan's territorial gains across the Pacific, soared when news of the raid was released. Although the material damages were quickly repaired by the Japanese, the psychological effects of the raid were much more severe as it was evident that Japan was vulnerable to air attack. The print is numbered "689/940" and is signed Ficklen as well as James H. Doolittle. The frame measures 34 - 1/4" x 24 - 1/2". CONDITION: The colors remain vibrant with no noticeable damage to the graphic. The framed print is still contained in its original plastic. Overall excellent. JLD
