Manufactured 1945 as per serial number. Serrated slope front sight, flat top square notch rear sight, with "P" proof in front of rear sight, oriented to be read barrel up. Distinct tempering lines around slide stop notch and front third of muzzle. Left side of slide correctly marked "ITHACA GUN CO., INC, / ITHACA, N.Y.". Barrel marked "P" on left lug and "F" on right. Right side of frame with crossed cannon cartouche at rear, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", and serial number all behind slide stop hole, "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" in front of slide. Left side of frame with FJA inspector proof for Atwood, "P" proof under magazine release. Left side of trigger guard with inspector proof. Small parts comprise narrow checkered hammer, serrated thick tab safety, serrated slide release, checkered magazine release, short stamped trigger, long 1911A1 grip safety, arched serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Later production magazine marked "19200- / ASSY 5508694 / MFR. 1M291". CONDITION: Overall excellent. Slide has distinct temper line and crisp legends that have been carefully enhanced by white infill. There are a few extremely minor handling marks, primarily towards muzzle. Frame excellent in commensurate fantastic condition as slide, with a few very minor marks. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with crisp rifling and some minor frosting. Absolutely top quality. EMW
