Very attractive Australian smooth jacket Vickers display gun made out of a World War II vintage parts set by carefully removing the right sideplate. Left sideplate is held in place by several contemporary bolts. Many parts marked “MA” including the brass feed block and lock. Backplate, recoil plates, crosshead, charging handle, fusee cover, fusee spring, armored booster assembly all are present and appear serviceable. Lock moves within the receiver box albeit with difficulty due to missing right sideplate, and one needs to move the extractor by hand in order to return it to the forward position. Top cover is fixed in the closed position and not forced open incidental to cataloging. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original blue finish thinning to a grey patina at the high edges. Remnants of masking tale on water jacket. Wood handles are near excellent. Bore is near excellent, shiny, and bright. Bolt face extremely fine. This gun would make a fantastic display while at the same time being a great “donor” gun for Vickers parts should the need arise. THIS IS A NON-GUN AND WILL BE SHIPPED AS PARTS. JWK
