Desirable Model P9S Sport Group III manufactured by Heckler and Koch in 1981. The left side of the slide bears stampings stipulating the manufacturer information and model designation, followed by the serial number and a German "(Eagle) / N" commercial nitro proof, with the right side of the slide bearing HK's importer information. Right side of frame bears a German "(Eagle) / N" commercial nitro proof, followed by HK's date code "IB" (81), as well as an Ulm proofhouse stamp. Features include a matte gray finish, a slide with no provision for a front sight, 5 - 1/2" barrel fitted with a matching target counterweight with an integral front sight, adjustable square notch rear sight, as well as a polymer frame featuring checkering on either side along with a thumb rest on the left. Pistol is accompanied by an HK hard case containing a matching standard configuration slide & barrel, 2 1-piece wood target grips, as well as an additional magazine. CONDITION: Exceptional to near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory applied finish overall, exhibiting a light layer of what is possibly original factory oil on the exterior and within the interior. Mirror bore, exhibiting standard HK polygonal rifling throughout. Polymer frame is excellent overall. Spare slide and barrel are en suite. Wood grips are extremely fine. Case shows some minor superficial marks from handling and storage, but is otherwise fine. An exceptionally fine condition example of a highly desirable HK P9S Sport Group III semi-automatic pistol.
