Joslyn Model 1864 single shot rimfire carbine made by the Joslyn Fire Arms Company in Stonington, Connecticut circa the 1860s. This example is one made for public sale since there are no inspector stamps. 22" round .52 caliber rifled barrel with blade front sight and rear flip military style sight with single iron barrel band. Rimfire action with gate numbered 5026 with Joslyn patent marks and pull out knob release. 3 position hammer with single trigger control, Joslyn marked lock, and tang marked 4131 with slide bar and saddle ring. Walnut stock with iron hardware including U.S. marked buttplate. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning a plum patina and having some light surface corrosion. Wood has dark oil soaked look with no visible cracks or repairs. Pitted bore with crisp mechanics. DLM
