Pomeroy produced 7,000 M1835/40 muskets circa 1840 to 1846, with this example dated 1844 on lock. Standard pattern musket converted to percussion in the Belgian style and rifled. These converted muskets saw widespread use in the Civil War. CONDITION: Fine. Metal has taken on a pleasing gray brown patina with marking throughout sharp. BAS
