Kentucky percussion rifle made by William Bodenheimer of Lancaster, Ohio between 1840 and 1860. 42" rifled .40 caliber octagonal barrel stamped "W. BODENHEIMER" with rifle sights. Percussion unmarked commercial lock with double set trigger control. Full curly maple stock with brass hardware and signature Bodenheimer Trebele Clef style cheekpiece designs with unusual right and left cheekpieces. Comes with hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good condition with metal turning a plum patina. Wood has traces of original dark finish with some cracking around the lock. No visible restoration or repairs. Dark pitted bore with functioning mechanics. DLM
