Circa 1850s ultra fine William Billinghurst pill lock ignition underhammer target rifle. 30" octagon .38 caliber rifled barrel stamped "W. BILLINGHURST / ROCHESTER, N.Y." with custom slide-on hooded pedestal sight, rear notch sight, and finely made folding tang peep sight. Underhammer pill lock ignition system with exposed trigger and half triggerguard with Federal Shield engraved on it. Fine checkered walnut stock with polished fine iron hardware. Comes with "drawer knob" hardwood ramrod and hard wood ramrod. CONDITION: Metal turning to a silvery brown patina. Hardware has some surface corrosion with sharp engraving. Great bore and mechanics.
