Circa 2000. A nicely balanced game gun with 26 - 3/4" blacked steel barrels. Barrels are fit with ejectors, 3" chambers, matte concave tapered rib with third fastener extension and round front bead sight. Rib reads "147 EL 20 GA." near breech. Barrels are also fit for side clips and with light scroll engraving near breech. Left barrel reads "GSI Inc. T'ville AL", "GEBR MERKEL SUHL", "MADE IN GERMANY". Right barrel reads "KRUPP Stahl". Chokes are Modified and Improved Cylinder. The coin finished scalloped boxlock action with blacked double triggers, disc set strikers, cross bolt and side clips. Blacked top lever and serrated safe slide are handsomely engraved with scrolls, game scenes of flying pheasants and grouse through wooded pastures. Engraving by "BB" (Bernd Becher) as signed. Gun is auto-safe. The blacked lightly scroll engraved trigger guard extends to a full-length bottom strap. The gun's stock and forend are reddish-brown with smoky figuring and matched sharp checkering. Buttstock is fit with an English straight grip and finished by a black ebonite Merkel buttplate. Forend with a lightly scroll engraved Deeley styled latch release. Gun is housed in a green and brown leather Merkel case. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain mostly all of their black. Action is sound, ejectors are in time and triggers are crisp. Stock and forend are very good with minor handling marks. Case is very good with light storage marks. Very nice gun!
