Scarce 1 of 1000 Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1924 bolt action rifles ordered from Steyr by the Sequoia Importing Company, San Franscisco, California in the early 1930s. 20" blued round barrel with banded front ramp sight, 3 leaf rear sight, and in .30-06 caliber with breech marked "Sequoia 183" and British proof marks. Blued action with receiver marked "MADE IN AUSTRIA / PATENT MANNLICHER SCHOENAUER / M.1924". Blued bolt with straight butterknife handle, wing safety, rotary magazine, and double set triggers. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with contrasting horn forend, steel serrated trap buttplate, horn grip cap, and European sling swivels. Sales did not meet expectations and approximately 500 were returned to Steyr. The 20" barrel is extremely rare in this model. This would have been a special order. CONDITION: 90% original blue with excellent markings and some small areas of carry wear. Stock has light usage wear with handling marks and dings. Excellent bore and mechanics. DLM
