Originally made as a percussion 1861 Navy revolver, it has been converted to a .38 Centerfire with a Richards-Mason style conversion. Blued 7 - 1/2" barrel with side mounted ejector rod and loading lever plug. Standard barrel address and sights. Frame with added 1871 and 1872 patent dates. Silver plated brass grip straps and aftermarket 1-piece ivory grips. Revolver is accompanied by a leather holster with tooled border, cartridge belt, a partial box of Western Lulaloy .38 Short Colt cartridges, and a wooden display case. CONDITION: Very good. Portions of factory reapplied blue are retained on the barrel with majority faded to brown patina. Frame retains bright case colors which are starting to tone. Grip straps have a cleaned appearance. Grips are ill fitting with a pleasing dark patina and age cracking. Good bore and mechanics. Full or partial numbers observed throughout. Cylinder retains a preconversion serial number but has been correctly numbered in the rear. Accessories are fair. BAS
