Manufactured circa 1893. Classic blued 24" octagon barrel chambered for .38-40 WCF with 2-line address, sporting sights, and full length magazine tube. Blued third model receiver with case hardened lever and hammer. Standard plain walnut stock with crescent rifle butt plate. Matching walnut forend with steel nose cap. CONDITION: Fine. Receiver retains vast majority of factory high polish finish with some scratching and marring, in addition to added protective coating. Barrel retains portions of thinned blued finish but has been struck with a file. Traces of case colors retained on lever with an overall silvery patina. The cartridge elevator displays a mellowing patina with the caliber designation retraced. Stocks are lightly cleaned with impressions throughout, and a split which runs through the forend. Very good bright bore showing defined rifling. Especially crisp mechanics. BAS
