European (probably German) flint lock Jaeger rifle built by an unknown gunsmith at an unknown location circa 1770. Traces of the manufacturer's name can be seen on the barrel. 20" octagon .67 caliber rifled barrel with rifle sights. Fruitwood full stock with brass hardware. Wooden lid sliding patchbox with European style carrying swivels. Newer replacement lock with set triggers. Stock has checkered grip areas and pewter thumbpiece and brass tipped hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with some age cracking along forestock. Wood has been cleaned and lock is a newer replacement. Pitted dark bore with functioning mechanics. DLM
