Unsigned flintlock Kentucky rifle similar to guns made at Tryon in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and used as trade rifles circa 1810. 38" octagon .48 caliber smoothbore barrel with rifle sights and "Star" decoration at breech. Tryon marked flint lock with single trigger control. Plain maple stock with incised back to back "C" carving and nicely done carved forestock moulding with brass hardware including an engraved 4 piece patchbox, brass crescent moon on cheek and brass oval on toe. Comes with hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall aged patina with some light surface corrosion. Lock is most likely a reconversion with stock having been lightly cleaned. DLM
