Manufactured to supplement M1903 production during World War I. Standard military configuration. Blued "3-18" dated and flaming bomb proofed 26" barrel chambered in .30-06 with protected blade front sight and adjustable rear sight. Blued receiver with standard markings and replacement parkerized "R" marked bolt. "OCEK" Elmer Keith inspected full military finger groove walnut stock stamped on each side "VFW". Stock is retained by 2 blued bands and is complete with a parkerized floor plate, and blued trap butt plate. A leather sling accompanies this rifle. CONDITION: Good. Metal components retain vast majority of their factory and arsenal applied finishes with some light wear and thinning. Stock has been refinished, making inspector cartouche faint. Some impressions and minor chips are present in stock. Bore shows strong rifling with pitting. Good mechanics. BAS
