An early mechanical automaton singing bird box, constructed of tortoiseshell with studded gold stars with brass cover. Comes with the original case. Condition of the box is wonderful, no cracks or abrasions. Rear key compartment with original key. Mechanically the bird is operating and chirping, however the rarity of this box would warrant a mechanical restoration to make it work perfectly. A superb example.
