1899 vintage special ordered Winchester Model 1894 deluxe rifle serial number 153163. 26" full octagon barrel. 2/3 length magazine tube. Takedown frame. Chambered in .38-55 WCF cartridge. Blue with case hardened loading lever, hammer, and buttplate. Highly figured, deluxe checkered, oil-finished walnut stock and forearm. Assembly number 14697 observed on inside bottom tang along with "XX" indicating factory deluxe wood. Assembly number 12641 observed on buttstock under the buttplate. Rifle style crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent with approximately 95% original bright blue remaining. Frame and barrel have scattered light freckling. 90-95% bright original case color remaining on hammer, lever, and buttplate. Overall a desirable high condition Model 1894 deluxe in the most desirable caliber and early serial number. -MKS-
