Unique Remington Model 1889 style Drilling that, according to consignor, was 1 of 10 made by Remington as a trial in the American Drilling market of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Gun has 30" Decarbonized 12 gauge steel shotgun barrels as used on the Grade I 1889 shotgun with 30" round .38-40 caliber rifle barrel expertly mounted on top of shotgun barrels and fitted with rifle sights. Case hardened action marked Remington Arms Company with 1889 style hammers with double triggers and unique third trigger control of rifle. Walnut checkered round knob pistol grip stock with Remington hard rubber buttplate and matching checkered splinter forearm with latch release. Whether Remington made or gunsmith made, the gun is quite an interesting piece. CONDITION: 98% remaining of a total refurbishment with blue lightly fading and some storage nicks and dings.
