German 1920s side by side 16 gauge shotgun made by "F. SCHAFHAUSEN, HILDESHEIM" marked "Crown over U" and the serial number "1507" on the receiver and forearm hardware. Barrel has numerous markings to include "Crown over W and U", "KRUPP LEURSTAHL", "SUHL", "Nitro", "1234", etc. Walnut stock with checkered grip, hard plastic butt plate, and checkered forearm. Sling swivels are present on stock and barrel. CONDITION: Barrel retains 90+% of its bluing, with light thin case hardening on receiver. Stock has light scratches, and butt plate has a 1/2" piece missing on its edge. Bores are bright, and shotgun is mechanically sound. The shotgun is accompanied by a scan of a letter which states that the shotgun was found in a German bomber after it was shot down in North Africa. WEZ
