1st Model Colt Woodsman Match-Target semi-automatic pistol, made in 1939, serial number MT4869. Custom-made checkered English Walnut "Elephant Ear" wrap-around grips with Colt medallions. Custom hand engraved in approximately D coverage, featuring foliate scrollwork with punch dot backgrounds. Gold inlay linework surrounding the slide, barrel, and frame. Gold inlay "WOODSMAN" on left side of frame. Gold inlay "COLT / AUTOMATIC / CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE" with high relief gold Rampant Colt motif on left side of the slide. Gold inlay Horse head with flowing mane on left side of barrel lug, with Angelo Bee's signature bee visible in the grass underneath. Correct magazine marked: "COLT WOODSMAN / CAL. 22 L.R. / MATCH TARGET MOD." Adjustable rear sight and thick blade front sight. Housed in a hard fabric-covered case fitted to the pistol with dark red interior. Including brass oil bottle, screwdriver, and cleaning rod. Compartment with 2 boxes of vintage Western .22 Long Rifle cartridges. CONDITION: Excellent plus overall with 97-98% bright refinished blue. Grips are excellent showing little wear. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is bright and clean. Very attractive custom embellished early Woodsman Match Target. -MKS-
