Manufactured circa 1925 to 1932 with "S" prefix serial number. Chambered for .22 rimfire ammunition, although high speed ammunition should not be used. Classic 24" blued octagon barrel marked with 2-line "The Marlin Firearms Corporation" address. Ivory bead partridge front sight and flip-up semi-buckhorn rear sight, with an additional tang mounted flip-up peep sight. Case hardened take-down frame with 6-pointed star inspector stamp on upper tang indicating "the gun was as near perfection as the finest materials, equipment and skills could make it". Fitted with plain walnut pistol grip stock with inset bullseye trademark and checkered "Marlin" composite buttplate. Matching plain walnut forend with blued steel nose cap. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel and magazine tube retain bountiful amounts of factory-applied blued finish with some light silvering at high edges and a few scratches. Nose cap has some toning. Receiver exhibits the majority of its strong case coloring, which has started fade. Stocks are very good with some scattered marks and an unfilled sling swivel hole near the butt. Very fine bright bore. Mechanically fine. BAS
