A very nicely done bronze sculpture on a veined unpolished marble base of a Black Forest style man walking on rocky ground. The man is dressed in traditional German outfit, carrying a big backpack and large walking stick in his hand. Nice cast dark brown bronze patina with great attention to detail. The caramel color rough marble base comes in beautiful colors. There is a plaque mounted on the front written in German, translated to English reading "Commemorative Sculpture Of His Vacation To A Captain Of Argentinian Army". Dated on the bottom 1907/ 1908. This handsome sculpture is unsigned. Figure without base measures 7 - 3/4" tall by 3 - 3/4" wide and 3 - 1/2" in diameter. In excellent condition, displaying beautifully.
