Second Generation Single Action Army revolver manufactured by Colt in 1965. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45", with Colt's single line address across the top. Left side of frame bears stampings stipulating the patent information followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Frame is case color hardened, with the barrel, ejector rod housing, trigger guard, trigger, grip straps, hammer, and frame screws being blued. Features include a 5 - 1/2" barrel, standard Single Action Army front & rear sights, as well as 2-piece Colt checkered plastic grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame as well as on the left side of the grip straps. Grips do not match, with the left being numbered "041" and the right "711". Matching assembly numbers are present on the rear of the frame and the loading gate. Revolver is accompanied by wood Colt display case featuring a green velvet interior, as well as a 6-round cartridge block in the bottom left and top right corners. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory applied finish, exhibiting some very minor wear around the muzzle crown, as well as a few scattered minor superficial marks from handling and storage. Frame retains vibrant case colors, with a few superficial marks and a small spot of discoloration on the top strap. Cylinder bears an extremely light dragline and hammer shows a few spots of light wear, with some spots of age related discoloration on the sides. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent overall. Case is very fine, showing little indication of extensive handling. A very attractive and high condition Second Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver. MLW
