Early L.C. Smith Field Grade side by side hammer gun made by L.C. Smith in Syracuse, New York between 1878 and 1889. 32" stub twist steel barrels with matted rib, bead front sight, and extractors. Case hardened sidelock action with double triggers and external hammers with locks marked "L.C. SMITH". Walnut checkered round knob pistol grip stock with L.C. Smith logo hard rubber buttplate. Matching checkered walnut forearm with ebony inlay and friction release. CONDITION: 95% barrel finish with 90% case colors and 90% hand rubbed finish with some light dings and handling marks. Excellent bores with crisp mechanics. A hard gun to find in this condition. DLM
