Circa 1910. A nicely refurbished 16 bore boxlock game gun with 25" nitro proof blacked steel barrels. Barrels with 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors and a machined, concave tapered rib. Rib with small white bead sight, larger front white bead sight and extension for lock up. Barrels are fit for side clips and with light scroll engraved side panels. Tops of barrels marked with stamp reading " EXCELSIOR STEEL", "WITTEN". Rib is engraved reading "CHARLES DALY DIAMOND REGENT". Barrel flats marked with proof markings and "1898", the gun's serial number. Chokes are Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder. Case colored boxlock action with gold cocking indicators, single mechanical trigger, cross bolt third fastener and side clips. Water table reads "PRUSSIA" and "1898" for serial number. Gun is non-auto. Action with vibrant case colors is engraved with scrolls, "CHARLES DALY" in circular banner and with gold inlay pheasants, woodcock and gold pointing dog on action bottom. Single trigger protected by a blacked scroll engraved trigger guard with a gold brace of sitting quail and 1 flying. Bottom tang is blacked with light scroll engraving and with serial number engraved "1898". Smoky reddish-brown European walnut stock with 2 checkered panels, sharp checkered round knob pistol grip and finished with a black decelerator rubber pad. Splinter forend with fine checkering, blacked, checkered and scroll engraved Deeley styled latch release. Forend also with an ebony forend tip. Exterior iron metal with scroll engraving. CONDITION: Excellent as redone. Barrels with 95% color. Areas with spotting or discoloration. Bores are good. Action is tight, ejectors are sound, and trigger is crisp. New case colors are strong. Stock is near new as restocked. Forend is good. Fun game gun. CP
