Lot consist of: (A) Smith & Wesson 3rd Model .38 double action pistol. Made circa 1880's. 2-line company address and patent dates on the barrel ridge. Matching serials on the barrel latch, cylinder, and butt. Right grip panel is numbered but not matching. Round barrel with pinned front sight blade and V-notch rear. Gun looks to have been engraved post factory and has a re-applied nickel finish. Grips are original checkered hard rubber. CONDITION: Metal components retains 80% of their re-applied finish with wear and some brown patina forming. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted with minor pitting and fair rifling. Mechanically inoperable as the cylinder does not spin when cocked, appears to be bound up. Hammer does still cock. (B) Remington Model 95 double derringer. Type II gun made circa 1890's. Single line "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y." marked on the barrel rib. Blade front sight with U-notch rear. Original blued finish and checkered brown hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with general wear and some grey patina. Hairline crack in the barrel hinge. Grips have normal finish wear. Bores are heavily frosted with pitting and fair rifling. Hammer is tight. Mechanically fine. JWA
