Manufactured 1956 as per serial number. Serrated ramp front sight, square notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with "COLT // SUPER .38 / AUTOMATIC // (Rampant Colt)" rollmark, right side with "COLT'S PT. F A. MFG. CO HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.". Right side of frame with serial number, left side with "A" proof below magazine release, "K" and Colt VP proofs on left side of trigger guard. Small parts comprise narrow checkered hammer, checkered slide release, serrated safety, serrated short trigger, serrated magazine release, long 1911A1 grip safety, arched serrated mainspring housing without lanyard loop. Coltwood grips with cast in rampant Colt. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory bluing with a few very minor marks from handling and use. Barrel hood is polished to in the white. Frame is excellent, retaining, again, virtually all of the factory bluing with some very minor marks from handling and storage; proofs have appropriate distension to metal from application of stamp. Mechanically fine; barrel is a possible replacement as it has deep even frosting throughout which does not match the condition of the balance of the pistol. EMW
