Woodsman semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Colt in 1939. Top of barrel bears Colt's address and patent information, with the left side of the frame being stamped "THE WOODSMAN". Left side of slide bears stampings stipulating the manufacturer and caliber designation followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components are blued, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. 6 - 1/2" barrel is mounted with a partridge front sight and slide is mounted with an adjustable square notch rear sight. Pistol is accompanied by an original unnumbered factory cardboard box containing a cleaning rod and manual inside. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory applied blue finish, exhibiting freckling and some mild wear overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Grips show moderate smoothing and a few nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise fine. Box sows some exterior wear and minor surface losses around the edges, but is otherwise fine. MLW
