Early Third Reich forestry service "Revierfoerster" (Area Ranger) officers tunic marked to a tailor "W. Michovius, Cottbus, Gegr. 1843" (a tailor founded in 1843 in Cottbus, Germany). The tunic is made from a fine "hunter green" wool with no visible damage, with a dark green velour collar. The collar has a 1" tear to the velour, as well as a couple of 1/2" tears; all can be repaired. The French cuffs, pockets flaps, and front all have a dark green piping. The tunic is lined in a medium green rayon/ cotton blend with very light soiling. A tag is inside the lining which identifies the tailor as a provider of forestry and hunting clothing. A name is present on the tag with the date of "29./2.36" (February 29, 1936). While there is a slit for as dagger hangar to pass through the tunic, no hangar was ever attached. Two rank tabs with silver bullion piping and oak leaves are hand-applied (unknown if era done) to the collar, and 2 officer rank shoulder boards each with a gold pip, bullion top, and dark green wool underlay are properly sewn into the shoulder, with both attachment buttons. A silver bullion aiguillette is attached to a button under the right shoulder board. Eight matching aluminum buttons secure the tunic and pocket flap. A pair of matching dark green piped green wool trousers are included with no visible damage. A post-WWII shirt and tie are included for display. CONDITION: Overall excellent plus. WEZ
