German World War II hand wood carved statue standing 16" tall, portraying a kneeling Wehrmacht soldier wearing a gas mask. On the front of the base is carved "ZEITGEIST" which means the "spirit of a generation or a period of time". Under the base is carved "A.VERTHALER", which could be the name of the German soldier, and " '42". Wood carving was period stained a darker shade, and exhibits light to moderate wear, staining, and dust. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
