Officer's Model double action revolver chambered in .38 Special manufactured by Colt in 1930. The left side of the barrel is stamped "*OFFICERS MODEL 38*", with Colt's 2-line address across the top. Left side of frame bears the Rampant Colt logo and "VP" proof. Features include a blued finish, 2-piece custom period Colt silver medallion smooth ivory grips, 6" barrel, bead front sight, as well as an adjustable U-notch rear sight. Revolver is accompanied by a custom period wood display case, featuring a green velvet interior, 18-round ammunition block, screwdriver, oiler, as well as a cleaning rod mounted on the interior of the lid. Factory letter indicates under "Special Features:" that this revolver was furnished with a bead front sight and was shipped to Shapleigh Hardware Company in St. Louis, MO on March 14th of 1931, in a shipment of two guns. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory applied blue finish, exhibiting some scattered spots of inactive oxidation and some very light high edge wear overall. Cylinder bears a light dragline and exhibits a few minor marks from handling and storage. Mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Ivory grips show patina overall, with replaced sections at the bottom corner or each grip panel. Right grip exhibits a repaired crack, stemming from the top and terminating at the center. A nicely cased Colt Officer's Model revolver. MLW
