An outstanding vintage Johann Berthelsen (Danish / American, 1883 - 1967) oil on canvas board NYC cityscape painting, signed "Johann Berthelsen" (lower right), titled "Wall Street in Winter and Trinity Church". A snowy New York City scene - frequent subject matter of Berthelsen - shows an American flag billowing dynamically in the winter wind, a standing statue by the steps and busy figures are crossing the street. It is housed in ornate gilded wood frame with linen liner. Image sight 19 - 1/4" tall x 16 - 5/8" wide. In very good to excellent condition, commensurate with age, with very minor wear to the frame.
