1863 vintage Smith and Wesson No. 2 Old Army single action revolver featuring a 6" barrel chambered in .32 Smith & Wesson Long Rimfire with German silver blade front sight and top strap rear sight. 2 piece plain rosewood grips. Complete with factory letter confirming configuration as well as probable shipment on March 6, 1863 to J.W. Storrs in New York City, New York in a shipment of 25 guns in this same configuration. CONDITION: Very good with a strong remnant of original factory bluing between gas shield and grip on either side of frame with balance turned a gray patina with scattered light handling marks. Grips are strong with handling marks but no major cracks. Mechanically fine. Bore is heavily frosted with areas of abrasion from period use with corrosive black powder and well-defined rifling. TON
