1873-1880 vintage Colt 1849 Pocket conversion single action revolver, serial number 315648 with only approximately 6000 total manufactured in this configuration. 3 - 1/2" round barrel in .38 Centerfire with cone front sight, 2 line barrel address, and hammer notch rear. 2 line Colt patent dates on left side of frame from 1871 and 1872. Stagecoach cylinder scene. 1 piece plain walnut grips. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel, frame, trigger guard, cylinder, cylinder arbor, and butt. Left side of trigger guard has been stamped over to read "38 CAL". Appears to have been nickel plated at time of factory conversion. CONDITION: Very good, with a majority of the factory applied nickel plating remaining with light areas of finish loss on edges and in heavily handled areas. Grips are strong with light wear and no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is frosted with areas of abrasion throughout from period use with corrosive black powder and crisp rifling. TON
