Adams Model 1867 double action centerfire revolver, serial number 1857. This was the commercial version of the Adams double action revolver, (Mark I, II, and III) used by the British military from approximately 1868-1880 when the Enfield revolver was adopted. 6" octagon barrel chambered in .450 Boxer with blade front sight and frame notch rear. 1 piece checkered walnut grips. Factory engraved with English scroll on frame and cylinder with accenting scroll engraving on grip cap and muzzle. CONDITION: Excellent, with a vast majority of the original bluing remaining with thinning on heavily handled areas such as grip and minor handling marks throughout. Frame screws are marred. Grips are very good with checkering sharp and no major signs of distress. Action needs attention as this revolver only functions in double action and will not hold on single action. Bore is lightly frosted with crisp rifling. TON
