Made 1918. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked on the left side of the frame. Eagle's head proof found above the magazine release. "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" marked on the right side of the slide, with patent dates and company address found on the left. Later production Colt barrel, with "895502" marked on the right side of the chamber. Blade front sight and u-notch rear. Original dark blued finish, forming a "black" look. Later production checkered wood grips, with an oil finish. Includes an unmarked parkerized magazine and a period unmarked brown leather soldier holster. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with a few spots of brown patina on the slide and frame. Grips are excellent. Bore is frosted, with very good rifling retained. Magazine is excellent. Holster has light wear on the straps. JWA
