Manufactured in limited quantities circa 1877 to 1885. They are often considered some of the finest guns sold by Hopkins & Allen. It features a polish blued 6 - 5/8" barrel with half moon front sight and frame notch rear. Frame marked on top "Hopkins & Allen M'F'G CO / PAT.MAR 28, 71 MAY 27, 72 / XL NO. 8 / CAL. WINCHESTER 1873" (.44-40). Fluted rear loading 6-shot cylinder. Fitted with 2-piece checkered hard rubber grips and a lanyard loop. CONDITION: Fine. Majority of the factory applied high polish blue is retained with some areas thinning to a gray patina and a few cleaned corrosion spots. Hammer retains the majority of is case colors with some fading. Grips show only a few minor marks. Good bore with some pitting. Good mechanics. BAS
