Manufactured 1972. Serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight. Left side with "COLT'S MK IV/ SERIES '70" / "GOVERNMENT MODEL" / ".45 AUTOMATIC CALIBER", with uncircled rampant Colt. Right side of slide marked "COLT'S GOVERNMENT MODEL". Barrel hood marked "COLT .45 AUTO" / "MARK IV / SERIES '70". Left side of frame with "4" subinspector proof on trigger guard, Colt VP proof on left side of trigger guard. right side with "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG CO. HARDFORD, CONN. U.S.A.", and serial number. Right side trigger guard with "K" subinspector proof. Flats are polished bright, while rounded areas left matte. Small parts comprise narrow checkered hammer, checkered slide stop, serrated safety, short serrated trigger, checkered magazine release, arched serrated mainspring housing. Truncated diamond checkered grips with inset golden Colt medallion. Dual pinned base magazine with "COLT / 45 AUTO" on baseplate. CONDITION: Overall excellent, retaining the vast majority of the nickel finish with some minor handling marks and surface scratches common to this finish. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with sharp rifling and some minor frosting towards throat.
