1894 vintage Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle, serial number 86448. 26" octagonal barrel chambered in .40-65 Winchester Center Fire with rifle rear sight, full length magazine tube, and German silver blade front. 2 piece plain walnut stock and forearm with rifle forearm cap and rifle buttplate. CONDITION: Good, with virtually all of the original bluing turned to a freckled brown-gray patina with traces of original bluing visible on bolt. Frame is mostly a silver patina with faint case colors visible at lower tang near patent date. Stock and forearm are good as sanded and finish added with handling marks throughout but are strong with no visible cracks. Mechanically fine. Bore is good with moderate abrasion throughout and well-defined rifling. TON
