German mid-19th century percussion Schuetzen rifle marked in silver inlay "GUSS STAHL ROHR", for the type of steel used in manufacturing the barrel, and "G. GRESSMANN IN ZELIS" on top of the barrel is silver inlay, which appears to be the gunmaker. Barrel has target style front sight in a dovetail, a middle sight adjustable for elevation, and a tang diopter sight base with screw. Full walnut stock with grip checkering, patch box, 2 sling swivels, and metal housing for ramrod, which is present. Set triggers and percussion hammer with nipple. CONDITION: Rifle is overall good. Barrel is brown patina with freckling throughout, trigger guard and butt plate retain some of their original finish with freckling. Stock has light dings. Hammer and set triggers function properly. Barrel has visible rifling but needs cleaning. WEZ
