Lot consists of 11 miscellaneous buttons excavated at Civil War sites. 4 large infantry officer’s eagle-I buttons and 1 cuff size; 1 New York; 1 general service eagle; 1 cuff staff; 2 U.S. Navy; 1 commercial trouser or suspender button; 1 small eagle-D dragoon button. CONDITION: Good excavated condition. Mixed backmarks, all with backs and shanks except the cuff eagle-I. some shanks bent. Remains of gilt finish as shown. The dragoon button has a pleasing brownish-green patina.
