Complete but opened early 2-piece box of .41 rimfire ammunition with blue label reading "RIMED METALIC AMMUNITION / 50 No. .41 / FOR / BREECH-LOADING DERRINGERS, / And other Pistols of this Calibre. / MANUFACTURED BY THE / UNION METALIC CARTRIDGE CO., Bridgeport, Conn. / Under Smith & Wesson's Patent, April 17, 1860." between 2 early "UMC" trademark monograms. Plaid box with orange band. Ammunition has no headstamp. CONDITION: Very fine. Colors are very bright with a clean label only showing some light abrasion. Corners of the lid starting to separate. Ammunition is clean with slugs starting to oxidize. A fantastic example of a very rare box! BAS
