Springfield Model 03-A3 bolt action rifle on .30-06. Made early 1943. Boxed "FJA" inspectors stamp, next to a crossed cannons arsenal cartouche. Circled "P" firing proof on the wrist. Remington production barrel dated, "2-43", under a flaming bomb. Blade front sight with standard milled rear. Most other parts are Remington marked. Stamped trigger guard is Smith Corona production. Original parkerized finish. Straight grip wood stock with no finger grooves Wood has a light oil finish. Smooth finish butt plate with a trapdoor. Includes attached generic leather sling. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original parkerized finish. Few freckles of surface rust on the bolt. Wood has finish wear, and some minor handling marks. Bore is lightly frosted, retaining strong 4 groove rifling. Muzzle reads at a "0". Mechanically fine. Sling has wear. JWA
