In the post-War era, Springfield Armory manufactured specific National Match guns for the Camp Perry national matches. This example was built on a Remington Rand frame, with a Micro adjustable rear sight and distinct raised front sight. Left of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information, with intercepting Colt pony. Right side of slide with "3214", matching the last 4 of the serial number. Frame has normal US Property marking, "T" proof, "SA" rebuild proof, and "NM" on right side of trigger guard. Left side of frame has FJA proof for Atwood. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, thick tab serrated safety, serrated slide stop, checkered magazine release, short aluminum trigger, long 1911A1 grip safety, serrated arched mainspring housing. National match bushing and barrel, with barrel numbered to frame, boxed "C" on right lug, "MP" on left lug. Fully checkered walnut grips. Housed in a Viet Nam era black shoulder holster made by Bucheimer. CONDITION: Overall excellent, retaining virtually all of the arsenal reapplied bluing, with distinct temper line at front of slide, and some minor marks from handling and storage. Some oil staining to parkerization. Legends softened throughout. Frame is excellent with some handling marks and light marks at reciprocating parts. Mechanically fine (and showing clear evidence of skillful gunsmith work), bore is excellent with crisp rifling. Holster is overall good with rubs, scratches, and crazing throughout, but solid. A very good example of a scarce gun. EMW
