The sword is marked "Wanamaker / & Brown / Phila Pa." on the ricasso and is identified to "R.P. Capelli" on the blade. The sword also features a brass guard with partially scaled knucklebow and serpent quillon. Wire wrapped rayskin grip with rounded pommel featuring an eagle contained in a star vignette. Partial sword knot. The sword is complete with its black leather scabbard with brass mounts. Raymond P. Capelli was born in Pennsylvania and served in the US Navy during the World War I era.
