Manufactured 1943. Serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight, with "P" proof in front of rear sight. Left side of slide has USS logo and "U.S.S & S. CO. / SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A.". High Standard barrel with "P" on left lug, "HS" on right. Frame has P proof on left side underneath checkered magazine release, RCD proof for Downie, which is slightly double stamped. Right side of frame with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and serial number behind slide pin hole, "M 1911 A1 U.,S. ARMY" fore of hole. Small parts comprise narrow checkered hammer, thick tab safety, checkered slide release, short stamped checkered trigger, checkered magazine release, long 1911A1 grip safety, arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop, Keyes fibre grips. Full blue magazine stamped "L" on lip for manufacture by Little. CONDITION: Overall very good plus, retaining the vast majority of the factory finishes, with some minor marks from handling and storage, including normal takedown mark. Some spots of browning visible on left side of frame, primarily around slide lever. Some minor silvering to reciprocating areas. Grips are excellent, free of damage. Mechanically fine, bore is good with mild frosting in grooves. This is a great example of a scarce 1911A1 maker. EMW
