Lot consists of: (A) Small photo and document grouping of Adolph Rahner, a German immigrant who served in M Troop 5th Cavalry from 1885-1980. The grouping consists of Rahner's discharge documents, 2 cabinet cards of Rahner in uniform, and miscellaneous documents including prayer cards and a 1939 card from the World's Fair. (B) Small ephemera lot of WWI Divisional Insignia cards with Wagoneer patch and foreign currency. Small Red Ball Express ephemera grouping from a soldier in the 3882 QM Truck Company. The group includes a coin purse with foreign currency, postcards, loose pages about the Red Ball express from Life Magazine, pocket guide books, and two envelopes named to "Col. GR Severns" that contain numbered German collector cards. (C) Small photo group of Thomas H. Owens. Co. H 331 Infantry. The photos include US soldiers posing on wrecked German aircraft including BF-109s, JU-52s, and FW-190s. There are also photos of the soldiers at home and in various landscapes. (D) Small WWII German Luftwaffe photo group which includes postcards, a Reise-Pass, visor hat insignia, and photos of Luftwaffe personnel guarding civilians. There is also a ripped card that is marked in pen on the reverse "FOUND IN GOERING'S VILLA BERLIN". (E) Large WWI photo grouping of Captain Paul H. Plough, who was a Silver Star Recipient in the 3rd Division during WWI. The group contains a large amount of photos, most were mass-produced, but there are some of men in 3rd Division uniforms which may have been taken by Plough. His 1920 dated Silver Star Citation is also included. (F) Small photo grouping of 2 brothers, James H. Saraceni and Hugo Saraseni. One of their names may be misspelled. The group has James' dog tags and Hugo's business card. There are photos with great content, including soldiers posing on knocked-out German tanks, soldiers in the countryside, with vehicles, a buzz bomb, C-47s, and at home. Many of the photos are wonderfully labeled on the reverse. There are various patches visible in the photos including 9th Air Force, AA, 5th Army, as well as various rank insignia. (G) Lastly there are a few miscellaneous service documents from soldiers who served in the early 1900s. CONDITION: All photos and ephemera exhibit blemishes that are typical of old paper. Many photos are rolled and will need to be flattened. Overall fair to very good. JLD
