Standard 30" blued barrel chambered for the .30-40 Army cartridge and fitted with a 1902 style adjustable rear sight and blade front. Barrel is retained by 2 blued iron bands with sling provisions on a 2 piece full length walnut stock. Stock marked with a crisp "JLA / 1903" and circled "P" proof at the wrist. Case hardened action stamped "U.S. / Model 1898. Springfield Armory. 472653". CONDITION: Very good. Vast majority of the original blued finish retained on the barrel with other areas fading to a gray patina. Vast majority of the brilliant nitre blue retained on extractor. Stock is very fine showing a few scattered marks. Fine bright bore displaying crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. A great late production Krag in higher condition than usually encountered. BAS
