Commando double action revolver manufactured by Colt on the Official Police frame during the onset of the United States involvement in World War II. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT COMMANDO/ .38 SPECIAL", with 2-line address and patent information across the top. Features include a parkerized finish, 4" barrel, half-moon front sight, frame notched rear sight, as well as 2-piece checkered Colt plastic grips. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original parkerized finish, exhibiting silvering on the frame, barrel, and cylinder edges. Cylinder ejector rod shows wear through to silvering from operation. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. MLW
