Lot consists of: (A) M1886 H-shaped, heavy, cast belt plate on Mills dark blue .45-70 cartridge belt. This was used by the regular army in the late Indian War period. Phased out the Army in 1894, but it continued in use with many of the state troops called into service in the Spanish-American War and is often seen in period photographs taken in Cuba and the Philippines. This belt retains (45) 1892-1893 head stamped Frankford Arsenal cartridges. (B) Span-Am US Army Mills single row .45-70 cartridge Belt with Pat 1887 Mills-Orndorff stamped brass plate. (C) Model 1873 Springfield trowel bayonet with for .45-70 trapdoor Springfield rifle. CONDITION: Both belts show some light fading with excellent buckles free of dents. Trowel bayonet retains most of its factory blue and is missing the scabbard. BRM.
